Hospital for Special Care Plans to Provide a Quit Smoking Clinic

The Hospital for Special Care located in the New Britain region of United States, is gearing up to offer a stop smoking clinic from 21^st March. The clinic will be operated by facilitator trained by the American Lung Association.  

Elyse Carroll, pulmonary rehabilitation coordinator at the Hospital for Special Care, states that the stop smoking program by the American Lung Association has proved to be the best program for quit smoking across United States. Elyse Carroll adds that the program educates smokers on the techniques and skills required for focussing on how to quit and to stay quit.

Carroll reveals that the stop smoking program will make the participants learn various lessons in the first place. Thereafter, it will help them transform to prepare for quit smoking before the arrival of the real Quit Day.

The quit smoking clinic will have eight sessions. The sessions will take place at room 1515 at the hospital. The sessions will be held on March 21, March 28, April 4, April 9, April 11, April 18, April 25 and May 2. The timings are 2:30 to 4 p.m. To attend the quit smoking sessions, each participant has to pay $100. The participants will need to pre-register and attend all eight sessions.

The registration process has already started and is open to adults aged 18 or more.

New NHS Quit Smoking Clinic Gets Ready To Help Smokers In Ottery

 A new stop smoking clinic in Ottery is offering assistance to smokers who are eager to trigger off smoking cessation. Starting from 7^th February, Thursday, the clinic provides personalized and confidential support to smokers aged 16 or more who are enthusiastic to quit cigarette smoking.

 

Sarah Leggatt, the leading adviser of the clinic, states that the quit smoking clinic is now able to help Ottery residents stop smoking forever.

 

The Health Promotion Devon team from the “Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is responsible for operating the quit smoking sessions. The clinic is a part of the Devon Stop Smoking Service and it will begin offering services from 10am to noon on Thursdays.  

Research results have made it apparent that a smoker is four times more prone to quit smoking by opting for support offered by the NHS. Hence, it is important for all smokers to get help from localized clinics.
